§01How it works

Four steps.
No haggling.

  1. 01

    Describe the issue

Type it, snap a photo, film the noise, or punch in the dashboard error code. No car jargon needed.

Text · photo · video · OBD code

  2. 02

    Get a fair-price estimate

Our AI turns it into a clear job with a fair price range for your car and area, so you know what's reasonable before anyone bids.

    e.g. Pads + rotors · $420–$560

  3. 03

    Mechanics bid

Verified mechanics near you compete for the job. Compare price, rating, warranty and distance, then pick.

    Price · rating · warranty · km

  4. 04

    Pay safely with escrow

Your money is held until you see photos of the old and new parts and sign off. Then the mechanic gets paid.

    Released on your sign-off

§04FAQ

Fair
questions.

How much does it cost?

Joining the waitlist and posting a job are free. When you book, you pay the bid you accepted plus a small booking fee, both shown before you confirm. Founding members who refer 25 friends pay no booking fees for their first year.

How are mechanics vetted?

Before a mechanic can bid, we check their licence or certification (Ontario 310S/310T or ASE), verify their identity, run a background check and confirm they carry liability insurance. After that, ratings from real jobs keep everyone honest.

What if something goes wrong?

Your money stays in escrow until you've seen photo proof of the old and new parts and signed off. If something's off, don't sign off and we step in. Every job booked through Torqued also comes with a 30–90 day warranty, so if the fix fails, it gets made right.

Which cities?

We're starting in one city and expanding across Canada, then the US. Add your postal or ZIP code after you sign up: where the waitlist is biggest is where we go next.

When does it launch?

We're aiming for early 2027. Waitlist members get in first, in line order, and sharing your link moves you up.

Is my payment safe?

Yes. Payments go through a licensed payment processor and sit in escrow, not in the mechanic's pocket, until you approve the finished job. The price can't go up without your approval in the app.
